Akademie-Gespräch [und…] 6.2., Pariser Platz Autorenfilme, Dokumentarfilme und künstlerische Filmessays verschwinden immer mehr von den Kinoleinwänden. Die Kinos in den Kleinstädten kämpfen um ihre Existenz. Dem gemeinschaftlichen Erleben im Kinosaal steht die allgegenwärtige Verfügbarkeit von Streaming-Diensten gegenüber. Diskutiert wird über die Lust am Kino, die Angst vor seinem Verschwinden und den Mut zu Neugründungen. Mit Christian Bräuer, Peter Dinges, Hans W. In der eigenwilligen Architektur der Akademie der Künste am Pariser Platz erklingen Kompositionen der Festival-Edition 2018: Rebecca Saunders’ Klang-Collage Stasis, eine Uraufführung der Estin Helena Tulve und Teile aus dem multimedialen Requiem des Esten Jüri Reinvere. Über sein Wirken, das Verhältnis von Geist und Tat und in den Jahren von 1926 bis 1929 entstandene Texte diskutieren Ariane Martin, Volker Riedel und Gunnar Decker. Lesung: Jens Harzer. Cinemas in small towns are fighting for their existence. The community experience at the cinema faces the ubiquitous availability of streaming services. RCMN-CNMN FORUM 2018 Student Competition / Concours Étudiant

une version française suit CNMN FORUM 2018 Call for Student Interarts Showcase Finishing undergraduate and graduate students or students groups from universities in Quebec are invited to submit proposals for interarts performance projects where music is a leading component. Chosen works will be performed in a concert on May 19th at Concordia University during the 2018 CNMN FORUM. Guidelines: Preference will be given to works between 5 and 15 minutes. Lighting, minimal props, and video are possible, as long as they can be set up in a relatively short rehearsal window the day of the performance. We are not accepting (semi-)staged operatic works. To Submit: Send a single PDF document to admin@reseaumusiquesnouvelles.ca by February 15, 2018 with the following: Names and institutional affiliations of all performers/artists. Conceptual description that includes a justification of the project's interarts nature (max 1 page) Technical requirements, including all necessary technical personnel – please also detail whether you can provide technical/stage equipment and expertise for your piece (max 1 page) Short biographies of leading artists (max 250 words/artist) Links to demo materials on Dropbox, Vimeo, YouTube, SoundCloud or personal website (please limit video to 10 minutes) and/or max 5 images included in the file. Applicants will be notified of the results by March 15, 2018. Les œuvres choisies seront jouées lors d'un concert le 19 mai à l'Université Concordia à Montréal dans le cadre du FORUM 2018 du RCMN. Directives : Les œuvres entre 5 et 15 minutes seront privilégiées. Éclairages, accessoires minimaux et vidéo sont possibles, du moment qu'ils peuvent être montés rapidement avec une plage relativement courte de répétition le jour du concert.
