View in browser Dear friends and music lovers, We are very happy to announce that after the current period of 2020-2024, our Kiezsalon will once again benefit from the Senate Department for Culture's four-year funding programme!   We are grateful to continue our work from 2024 to 2027. Thank you for your ongoing support over the years. Here are some personal words from our artistic director Michael Rosen. ­ Read here ­ The MADEIRADiG Festival, your annual winter retreat, is approaching in just over 100 days. Join us on Flower Island in the middle of the Atlantic from 30 November — 5 December 2023. The lineup and festival tickets will be released by the end of this month. In just 3 weeks we are happy to present the annual Pop-Kulturfestival. This year Musicboard are hosting 100 events on more than 10 stages. There will be commissioned works, concerts by exciting newcomers and established bands, as well as talks, films, readings, and much more. The festival kicks off on 30 August at Kulturbrauerei. In the current tipBerlin magazine you will find a double interview with Monika Döring and Michael Rosen. Döring made history as a concert promoter/curator in West Berlin in the 1980s. Her legendary Loft Club had a major impact on subculture and without her, the scene would look very different.   tipBerlin is Germany's biggest city magazine and has been a companion through cultural life since the 80s. Buy a copy and support print. ­ Read here ­ A quick reminder: next Saturday, 26 August, we return to MaHalla for our next Kiezsalon. In this vast industrial hall you can see performances by three artists: ambient vocalist Penelope Trappes, computer musician Marcin Pietruszewski, as well as cellist Justin Wright.
