Dear friends and music lovers, After last year’s memorable Kiezsalon opening, we are excited to return to the Zionskirche, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Join us on Saturday, 20 May for two premieres from French composer and organist Delphine Dora and Brooklyn-based producer Kaye Loggins aka Time Wharp.  The Zionskirche has just reopened last month after extensive renovations; our Kiezsalon will be the first music event in the newly revamped space. Inaugurated in 1873, the church was built on a 52-metre-high vineyard and is one of the highest points in Berlin. Its 67-metre tower offers panoramic city views, and its gardens are ideal for lingering before and after the concert. Pitchfork wrote about our premiere guest Time Wharp — "the jazzy, broken-beat house of producer Kaye Loggins brings to mind artists like Floating Points and Four Tet. On her full-length debut, she leaves behind hyper-speed footwork beats and short and dense track fragments for a well-paced and flowing whole."   She uses chopped-up live drum patterns and mantric vocal hooks to provide rhythmic sediment, with insistent saxophones and walled up synth bliss washing in and out of the stereo field for dynamic effect. Playing in Berlin for the first time, Delphine Dora will present her intimate compositions on the Zionskirche organ. Her music displays a pure fascination with sound and straddles the lines between improvisation, modern classical, avant folk, song forms, and electro-acoustic music.    After Anna von Hausswolff's memorable Kiezsalon performance in 2021, we look forward to experiencing another artist playing the organ. For a taste of what’s to come, watch Delphine play a church organ at Meakusma Festival in 2022. ­ Book your ticket ­ We are also happy to present the concert program Broken Music Vol. 2_Live, rounding off the current exhibition commemorating more than 70 years of records and sound works by artists at the Hamburger Bahnhof.    The program presents pioneering artists Sven-Åke Johansson, Charlemagne Palestine, and Christian Marclay as well as emerging artists Jessica Ekomane, Mieko Suzuki/Claudia Rohrmoser, Hassan Khan, and Emeka Ogboh.
