Music, Media, Arts Education. /SAVE-THE-DATE/Online-Conference Nov. 17-18, 2020

SAVE THE DATE – Virtual Conference
Music, Media, Arts Education.
A Pan-European Exchange of Views on Research, Praxis and Musical Education in the Digital Age
Online Conference on November 17-18, 2020, in English via ZOOM

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

Digitisation has thoroughly permeated every sector of society and our lives; it no longer merely delineates technical applications, as it equally relates to cultural phenomena and practices. What are the consequences and potentials, especially for the music sector?

The Genshagen Foundation cordially invites you to discuss with representatives from across the fields of research, art, music education, and business. The following questions, among others, will be addressed:

  • How digitisation could influence both the learning and teaching of music, and how music teaching practices could be thus expanded so as to embrace digital cultural techniques?

  • How the promise of societal participation could be realised through digitisation; how, for example, could digitisation expand every individual’s participation through music production?

  • How to highlight the emancipatory potential arts education has notably in the digital sector?

Join the online conference “Music, Media, Arts Education” scheduled for
November 17 (2 pm to 7:30 pm) and November 18 (9:30 am to 3:30 pm), 2020
Benefit from this opportunity to participate in a discursive space for interdisciplinary and interprofessional exchange in the field of music and digitisation at the intersection of technology, art, research and education – with a particular focus on Poland, France, and Germany.

The working language of the conference is English, participation in the event is free.

We will send an invitation with a full programme and registration information in the coming weeks. For more information please visit our
website. Further questions? Please contact Julia Effinger at effinger@stiftung-genshagen.de.
