View this email in your browser (english version below) Save the date(s): Festival BLAUES RAUSCHEN 06.-23.06.2023 Hallo , Essen, Dortmund, Bochum Gelsenkirchen und Herne - in der Zeit vom 6.-23. Juni werden  an 9 Veranstaltungstagen wieder unterschiedliche Künstler*innen oder Formationen live „digitale Soundexperimente, elektronische Musik, Installationen, Performances und Tanz“ als Signale der Zukunft aussenden. Wer und was auf welchen Bühnen zu sehen und zu hören sein wird,  verraten wir im nächsten Newsletter - jetzt werfen wir erstmal einen Blick auf einige "Specials" des diesjährigen Festivals. Los geht es am Dienstag, 6.6.2023 im Essener FORUM FÜR KUNST UND ARCHITEKTUR: Das Projekt „cycle and recycle“ kombiniert eine Fotoausstellung mit Soundart-Produktionen. Der belgische Fotokünstler Paul Bulteel hat das Thema Recycling beeindruckend beleuchtet - Karl-Heinz Blomann hat diese Anregung aufgegriffen und 10 internationale Soundart-Künstler*innen eingeladen, das Thema akustisch erfahrbar zu machen. Bilder und Sound sind dann bis zum 23. Juni zu sehen und zu hören. Zur Finissage laden wir zu einer Talkrunde zu den künstlerischen Aspekten von Trash und Recycling ein. Am 14. Juni stellen wir im Bochumer ATELIER AUTOMATIQUE die Frage: Wie können wir Sound situieren, anstatt ihn als universell zu behaupten? Wie können wir das Sonische relational und environmental verstehen und dadurch auch global und feministisch denken? Theoretisch-praktisch wird das Thema „Situiertes Soundwissen“ ergründet – eine Kombination aus Lecture-Performance und Artist-Talk  mit Antye Greie-Ripatti und Pedro Oliveira in Kooperation mit der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Als weiteres Special findet vom 14.-17. Juni in der FOLKWANG MUSIKSCHULE „Humanizing the machine self“ statt – ein Open Hacklab mit Bewegung, Musik und Visuals unter Leitung von Peter Kirn. In diesem Labor werden Möglichkeiten erkundet, wie mit Hilfe von KI Musikperformance mit Gestik und Ausdruck verbunden und als Kollektiv genutzt werden kann. Wir laden dazu Interessierte aus Sparten wie Musik, Tanz, Performance, Puppenspiel, Visuals oder Creative Coding ein, in einem viertägigen Workshop das digitalisierte Selbst zu ihrem eigenen zu machen und die normativen Avatare der digitalen Welt zu Gunsten eines eigenen imaginären Punk-Ethos zu dekonstruieren. (zum Aufruf >>). Das Ganze mündet dann am Samstag den 17. Juni in einer Abschlussperformance. The festival kicks off on Tuesday, 6.6.2023 at the FORUM FÜR KUNST UND ARCHITEKTUR in Essen: The project "cycle and recycle" combines a photo exhibition with sound art productions. The Belgian photo artist Paul Bulteel has impressively illuminated the topic of recycling - Karl-Heinz Blomann has taken up this suggestion and invited 10 international soundart artists* to make the topic acoustically tangible. Images and sound can be seen and heard until June 23. At the finissage, we invite you to a round table discussion on the artistic aspects of trash and recycling. On June 14, at ATELIER AUTOMATIQUE in Bochum, we will ask the question: How can we situate sound instead of claiming it as universal? How can we understand the sonic relationally and environmentally and thereby also think globally and feministically? Theoretically-practically the topic "situated sound knowledge" will be explored - a combination of lecture-performance and artist-talk with Antye Greie-Ripatti and Pedro Oliveira in cooperation with the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. As another special, "Humanizing the machine self" will take place from June 14-17 at the FOLKWANG MUSIC SCHOOL - an open hacklab with movement, music and visuals led by Peter Kirn. This lab will explore ways to use AI to connect music performance with gesture and expression and use it as a collective. To this end, we invite interested parties from disciplines such as music, dance, performance, puppetry, visuals or creative coding to join us in a four-day workshop to make the digitized self their own and deconstruct the normative avatars of the digital world in favor of their own imaginary punk ethos.
