Opening tomorrow, 21 Sunsets festival next Friday and Kiezsalon news

 

Heimat, Herz, Orte series opens tomorrow w/ Julia Reidy, our 21 Sunsets special next Friday, Maya Shenfeld added to Kiezsalon at Villa Elisabeth.   Dear friends and music lovers,   Just a little reminder! Tomorrow at Galerie Bernau we present our first edition of Heimat, Herz, Orte. Australian guitarist Julia Reidy will perform amidst exhibition artwork that reflects on notions of home, identity and belonging. A DJ-set from konkrit will follow in the gallery courtyard, a lovely space for socializing outside and enjoying the local Bernauer beer.   Doors open at 19:00 CET, the concert starts at 20:00.     I would like to invite you to the nearby Naturpark Barnim — in my opinion one of the Brandenburg’s most beautiful nature parks — before the concert at Galerie Bernau, to make the most of a summer Saturday outside the city — Michael Rosen     Next Friday (30.07), we are happy to present another concert evening as part of the 21 Sunsets festival at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt.   Curated by me, and with three 30-minute concerts by low brass ensemble Zinc & Copper, the analog synthesis and tape-loops of composer Marta De Pascalis, and the imaginative pop soundscapes of Golden Diskó Ship. The last remaining tickets are available here.   We can once again enjoy concerts, film screenings, readings and discussions on the roof of the "pregnant oyster”.     Lastly, we have added Maya Shenfeld to the line-up at Kiezsalon at Villa Elisabeth on Saturday, 14th August, along with Galya Bisengalieva and Carmen Villain. Maya's debut solo album In Free Fall will be coming out on Thrill Jockey this October.    Due to a high amount of requests, we have created two sessions for this Kiezsalon.
