Hi everyone, here's a quick update on my recent and upcoming activities: The beginning of the year saw solo shows at Hangar Bicocca in Milan, Goldsmiths and Cafe OTO in London, and the premiere of INFRA, a new commissioned project for CTM Festival & Berghain, based on infrasound and architectural resonance. One reviewer said “Ankersmit immersed the audience in equal parts terrifying and hallucinatory full-body sound … Infra-bass waves so deep and powerful that they shook up resonances throughout the building and actually blurred my vision. A stunning, fantastic performance." More info in this recent interview. Coming up this weekend is the premiere of a new Phill Niblock piece for Serge Modular at Tate Modern. In April I'll be performing with a new project commissioned by GRM in Paris based on the writings of Pierre Schaeffer and Denis Smalley (image above) at their Présences Électronique festival, followed by a festival tour of the Balkans with Phill Niblock. In May I'll mostly be in Budapest developing a new spatial sound performance for 4DSOUND. Best wishes!
