Dear members of Sonology's Concert Mailing List,
Ten years after the festival Composing Spaces: Spatial Music from Gabrieli to the 21st Century (April 2013), the Institute of Sonology at the Royal Conservatoire is organising Composing Spaces 2: Space as Music's Medium of Transformation.
From 12 to 14 April 2023 there will be lectures and concerts with works by Siamak Anvari, Teresa Carrasco, Cathy van Eck, Giulia Francavilla, Jonty Harrison, Anna Khvyl and Daryna Mamaisur, Luigi Nono, Hilde Wollenstein, and Iannis Xenakis. The full programme can be found here:
http://sonology.org/composing-spaces-2-programme-online/.
All concerts and lectures are free.
I ask you to pay special attention to the concert on 13 April at 20:00 in Amare's Concertzaal. In collaboration with the Classical Department, works by Charles Ives (Central Park in the Dark and The Unanswered Question), Luigi Nono (No hay caminos, hay que caminar… Andrei Tarkovskij for seven instrumental groups arranged around the audience) and Edgard Varèse (Amériques) will be performed by the Conservatoire's symphony orchestra. The hall is huge but we expect a large audience so registration for this concert via this link is strongly recommended:

Click on 'reserveer een plaats' and then choose 'Genodigden via afdeling Sonologie (Kees Tazelaar)'. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail after registration. It is possible to reserve multiple places.
I hope to see you at the festival!
Cordial greetings,
Kees Tazelaar
