„TRIMER“

„Trimer“ – is a structure consisting of the polyphony of three intertwined lines with the same timbre and forms the starting point of this piece. Each individual note of the toy piano was first sampled and then reassembled into two independent virtual instruments. The instruments on the playback tape were tuned 25 cents (1/8 tone) lower and 25 cents higher than the original. The simultaneity of the live-played instrument and the virtual toy pianos creates a dense microtonal web of short, repetitive, and chromatic motifs. The piece was originally written for Bernd Wiesemann (1938–2015) and was released on the SACD (5.1) "Das untemperierte Klavier“ („The Untempered Piano“) in 2003.
